More details about the next installment(s) of Kojima and Konami’s famed Metal Gear Solid franchise have been trickling out bit by bit since its official announcement earlier this year. Recently, we were given the release date and information on exclusive content that will be available for the first part of the two-part Metal Gear Solid V release, Ground Zeroes.
Unfortunately, to the dismay of many next-gen adopters, many sites were reporting that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, while available at retail and as a digital download for PS3 and Xbox 360, would be a download only for PS4 and Xbox One.
However today, Konami has updated us with a change on that information in their most recent press release which stated,
“METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES will begin hitting retail stores beginning March 18, 2014 for the Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. The game will be available in retail stores nationwide on current generation systems for the MSRP of $29.99 or via download for $19.99. For Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, and PlayStation 4 systems, the game will be available for the MSRP of $39.99 for the retail version or via download for $29.99.“
With this most recent statement, it is currently looking like Ground Zeroes will indeed have a physical retail release. This is welcomed news for individuals who are not too keen on downloading games for various reasons.
