A surprise to nobody, Nintendo announced Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U at this year’s E3. The game looks to bring in some new gameplay elements, but details are still scarce. In Japan, however, arcades are gearing up for the release of a brand new Mario Kart game of another kind, Mario Kart Grand Prix DX. The game, being developed in conjunction with Namco Bandai, shows off some pretty awesome gameplay including a special character fusion move that brings out a tank. A TANK! There are also some characters like Pac Man and Don-Chan from Taiko Drum Master. You can check out the awesome trailer below:
I must say, I wouldn’t mind some of those new weapons and gameplay elements to be in the next Mario Kart game on home console (are you listening Nintendo?!).
Unfortunately, don’t expect to ever see this game in the West. Mario Kart Grand Prix DX is hitting Japanese arcades this month.
