PlayStation Reveals New Pulse Wireless Stereo Headset – Elite Edition

Last year, PlayStation released their first wireless stereo headset and we were fairly impressed by them. Today, PlayStation has announced the inevitable updated version of those sleek sound devices, the new Pulse Wireless Stereo Headset – Elite Edition (featuring “bassimpact” technology).

One of the few negative marks that I did notice with the original headset is that the levels of bass were a little bit off and couldn’t be changed. The new Pulse headset hopes to change that with the “bassimpact” tech. With bassimpact, sounds are transformed into ” ‘pulses’ around the earpads of the headset.”

Check out a video PlayStation posted for the headset:

Some of the new features of the headset include:

  • Higher fidelity speaker drivers for dynamic sound
  • Preset Modes to optimize your audio experience for select gaming genres, movies, and music
  • Hidden noise-cancelling microphones deliver crystal clear voice chat and allow for a more streamlined design
  • Compatible with your PS3, PS Vita, favorite mobile device or MP3 player (connects via built-in 3.5mm audio jack and included auxiliary cable)

The headset will be available starting this fall for $149.99
