BioShock Infinite Delayed Until 2013

It is a somber morning, today. Irrational Games has gone on the record announcing some sad news for one of 2012’s most anticipated titles. Originally announced for an October 2012 release, Irrational Games has now decided to delay Bioshock Infinite, until February 26, 2013.

In the words of creative director Ken Levine,

“We’ve come to realize that some specific tweaks and improvements will make Infinite into something even more extraordinary.”

Not only will the game be delayed, but Irrational has also decided to pull the title from being shown at all major industry shows this year. That means, no Bioshock Infinite at E3 or Gamescom 2012. According to the press release, the next time we can expect to see Infinite is when the game is pretty much ready for a retail release.

While this news is disappointing, at the very least it shows that the team is concerned about quality and will not put out a “broken” or lackluster game.
