New Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC Brings Old Final Fantasy Faces To A New Generation

As most of you probably know, Final Fantasy XIII-2 launched today on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Celebrating the release, Square Enix also dropped another bit of news detailing some of the upcoming DLC.

The upcoming content includes Coliseum Battles pitting the player against adversaries from previous FINAL FANTASY titles that, when defeated, can be used in the player’s party. Whether that means you will be seeing Final Fantasy characters from older generations or those from more recent titles is yet to be seen. The first DLC, Coliseum battle “Lightning and Master Sergeant Amodar” will be distributed on February 7. In addition to that, there will be episodes which enhance the experience and complement the narrative of FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 with storyline branches for key characters in the story.

More info on the DLC and what it includes will be released at another time.

I’m not sure about you, but I for one would love to see HD versions of Cloud and Squall fighting in this generation – Could that be possible with the DLC? One can hope!

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is available now for Xbox 360 and PS3.
