Myst Rated By ESRB For PS3 and PSP

The classic Mac game that had its stake in the CD revolution and spawned a whole line of successful books and games, Myst, has been rated by the ESRB for a PlayStation 3 and PSP release.

Alone on a mysterious island, you set out to explore its grandeur and mystery. Here, a chilling tale of intrigue and injustice, defying all boundaries of space and time, is being told. Summon your wits and imagination about you. Every scrap of paper and ambient sound may provide the vital clues that allow hidden secrets to unravel before you. Each discovery you make and each puzzle you solve will lead you one step closer to reversing a wrong that has gone unchecked for ages.

The adventure game has had several ports, remakes, and sequels since its initial release on Mac OS in 1993. There’s no word on what version of the game will be released for the PS3 and PSP, but chances are that it will be the same PSP remake that released a few years back (2006 in Japan, 2009 in the U.S.), or even more likely, the PS1 port of the game released on the PSN as a PSOne Classic.

No official word on a release from Sony, but stay tuned for more news as we get it!
